Heather grew up in Lancaster County and attended Lancaster Mennonite HS, where her soccer career started.  She played varsity soccer for the Blazers for three years (10-12).  She soon realized that she was a great asset to her team because of her speed and her ability to beat players one on one to goal.  Heather scored 60 goals in HS and received MVP of the league, All-State and All-Regional honors.  Heather started coaching soccer camps during the summer of her 11th grade year.  From there, her love of the sport was clearly evident and she couldn't get enough of playing or coaching the great game of soccer.

She was recruited at West Chester University and majored in Health and Physical Education.  During her freshman year she scored 14 goals and had 9 assists (38 points).  Honors her freshman year included: PSAC Co-Rookie of the year, All-PSAC First Team, and Regional All-American.  She continued to be a dominating forward, getting double teamed every game.  In college she tallied 66 goals and 29 assists, which totaled 161 career points.  During her four years at WCU she earned All-PSAC and Regional All-American honors.  She also earned National All-American honors her senior year.  Heather played for the semi-pro team, Delaware Genies, which was a part of the USISL.  She played there for three years during college and had the opportunity to play with four National Team players (Kristine Lilly, Briana Scurry, Tisha Venturini and Debbie Keller).   After college, she was still involved in soccer, where she went to the National Finals in Florida with the United German Hungarian team.  She later was invited to play with the Philadelphia Charge (WUSA) against the Boston Breakers in 2002, at the Hall of Fame Game in Oneonta, NY.  She played with US NATIONAL TEAM Stars - Lori Fair and Heather Mitts and against Kristine Lilly and Kate Sobrero.  In February, 2003 Heather was invited to the San Diego Spirit Try-outs in San Diego, CA.

Heather's coaching career started in high school.  She started coaching younger children at the Lancaster Mennonite soccer camps when she was a junior in HS.  She later branched out and started working at other soccer camps in the area.  Her coaching career really flourished when she went to West Chester University and trained local club teams and premier teams.  She also continued doing summer camps for West Chester University, Franklin & Marshall College, Delaware Wizards & Genies Camps, United Sports Training Center Camps and Ken Kicks Soccer Camps.  Heather started running her own team camps in 1998.  In 1997, Heather started coaching at the ODP level in Delaware.  She coached ODP there for three years.  She later coached ODP in Eastern Pennsylvania.  During and after college she was involved with PAGS (Philadelphia Area Girls Soccer) select programs.  Her coaching experience at the high school level includes: Bishop Shanahan JV team in 2001, Downingtown JV team in 2002, two years at Cocoa High School in Florida as the head Varsity coach, and currently as the Head Varsity Coach at Twin Valley High School.

Heather also trained athletes in speed and agility training.  Her past experiences include work for Lightning Fast Training Systems of Downingtown and Sports Science Systems of Paoli.
