Welcome to F.C. Revolution Soccer Tryouts! Please read the following information regarding the club. Good luck in your quest to become a better soccer player and we wish you a successful tryout.
F.C. Revolution is interested in serious soccer players who are dedicated to the sport and excellence. You will find that the experience with our club is a time of growth and maturity for your child. Not only does our club provide premier coaching to all players, but it also offers its teams the opportunity to compete against the highest level of competition. Our club will help your child become a physically stronger, more skilled and tactically sound soccer player.
Player development is the number one priority at F.C. Revolution. Our coaches are highly qualified, as many have played professional soccer... as well as coached professional, college, high school, and other top level youth teams. Through the combination of mandatory practices, open practice sessions, league play, cup play and tournaments, your child will learn what it takes to become the best soccer player that he or she can be. Your child's ultimate success through this experience will be affected by his or her attitude and effort.
New players and parents to the program often have questions regarding expectations. Most F.C. Revolution teams begin training in June with the activity level being much more intense after the July 4th week. There are tournaments over the summer. All teams will exist over a twelve month calendar with certain time periods having heavier activity levels than others.
All teams U15 and above will be off during their respective high school soccer seasons. Practice, games, tournaments and any other events associated with the team are considered mandatory at all times. There are exceptions to this rule, such as important family events like weddings, vacations, funerals, baptisms, etc. As coaches, we realize there are times when players cannot be at practice due to illness or injury. Attendance is highly encouraged and will be noted. Players will be registered primary with F.C. Revolution and will be allowed to play ONLY as secondary players for any other team. If a player chooses to play for their club team they will have to play as a secondary player for that club and team.
In the fall, teams are registered in the DELCO, PAGS or CPYSL soccer leagues. There are approximately 10 games. Home games will be played at Shriners' Field or the
Our teams enter tournaments, cups, spring leagues, etc., throughout the year. The GAMEFACE INTERNATIONAL office will determine the events of participation, based on team development and the level of the events. Therefore, not all of the teams will be playing in the same events. Most of the fall and spring tournaments are two-day tournaments, requiring players and their families to stay at hotels. Winter tournaments are usually one day and most likely won't require hotel accommodations.
Each team is assigned a head coach. However, please note that several of our coaching staff members are responsible for multiple teams. How does that work? We "coach by committee." That means your child will have the benefit of learning from all of our highly skilled coaches. Although there will be a primary coach assigned, and responsible for your child's team, other FC coaches will be present at tournaments and league games from time to time. However, they will not be new faces to the players. Not only does this benefit your child for style and personality reasons, but it also allows for increased development and training. Every coach has special and different strengths and talents. "Coaching by committee" allows players to benefit from the knowledge and skills of all of our coaches. This year F.C. Revolution will have CONSISTENT Goalkeeper Training and will be available for fall, spring, winter, and a limited amount of time in the summer.
In addition to a head coach, each team has a team manager. The team manager is a parent who is in charge of non-coaching related items for the team. The team manager is responsible for obtaining all of the necessary information for player passes, registering teams at tournaments, providing directions to games, etc. The team manager is the main communicator between coaches and parents, and should be contacted with any "off the field" concerns.

We're excited that your child decided to tryout for F.C. Revolution. Should your child be selected, it will be a fun and rewarding year for both of you. We expect a high level of commitment from your child. Experience has taught us that all the coaching in the world cannot make an unmotivated child an excellent soccer player. With the right attitude and level of determination, we will work together and develop your child into a stronger, more confident soccer player and person.
- Don't forget to bring a soccer ball and a drink to your scheduled tryouts at Shriner's Field. Please be on time. Check - in at the tent will start approximately 30 minutes before your scheduled tryout time.
