PRESS RELEASE -

November 20, 2007

This newsletter reviews the performances of our teams that played this fall. This is one of a series of newsletters that will be distributed from our news department.

In only our fourth season as a club, I never thought we would be able to attain these accomplishments. I didn't think we would top last year, but we did.  All I can say is WOW...what a fall season!  Mike and I want to thank the coaching staff, team managers, parents and above all, the players - because without them, none of this would be possible. I can assure all of the parents that the following success stories are just the beginning of the new FC REVOLUTION era.

"The glory of sport is witnessing a well-coached team perform as a single unit, striving for a common goal and ultimately bringing distinction to the jersey the players represent."

I will begin with the boys teams and then make my way through the girls teams. The U15 - 18 boys teams did not participate in the fall due to high school boys soccer, so they are not included.

DELCO LEAGUE

I will start with the U10 BOYS, coached by Eric Puls and Jeff Koegel. The team had a record of 9 wins 0 losses in the regular season - finishing 1st in the regular season. The team was eliminated in the semi finals of the DELCO USCS D4 playoffs. This was a tremendous season for this first year team which is comprised of mostly U9s, one U8, and a few U10 players. I am extremely happy with the progress of this group. Great season boys !

U11 BOYS - USCS D1 and currently ranked # 8 in Eastern PA, coached by Jerry Moyer, finished with 6 wins 2 ties 5 losses and a 5th place finish out of 14 teams in the top flight. Almost one third of the team members are true U10s, so this was a great accomplishment. This team played the game like a mini college team with great organization and skill.

U12 BOYS - USCS D1, coached by Dale Witmer, finished with a regular season record of 7 wins 2 ties 1 loss and finished 1st overall during the regular season. They captured the league championship during playoffs winning 4-0 in the final. I can honestly say they are the Cinderella  team in the club this year. Anyone who knows where this team started...and where they are now, knows what an accomplishment this season was for the team. Congratulations to all the boys and thanks to the parents for staying patient.

U13 BOYS USCS D1, coached by Dale Witmer, finished with a regular season record of 2 wins 1 tie 5 losses. They finished 6th overall and were eliminated in the league quarterfinals. I believe the best is yet to come with this group, and with patience, this team will get better as it gets older.

U14 BOYS EPYSA D2, coached by Jeff Koegel, finished with a regular season record of 4 wins 2 ties 4 losses, and they finished 6th overall in the middle of the pack. The team ended their fall season this past weekend by being crowned champions at the Hempfield tournament. I look forward to watching the continued growth of this team.

Now...onto the girls teams !

What a run they had this fall !

PAGS LEAGUE

The U9 and 10 girls teams, coached by Dave Kupsov, competed in the top flight of PAGS and standings are not kept for these age groups. Both teams did well while competing in these top flights. The future looks very bright for these two teams as they come up through our club.  Remember - Player Development is the major goal for these age groups!

U11 GIRLS Premiere MAN UTD. Div., coached by Jeff Koegel, finished with a regular season record of 6 wins 1 loss,  2 ties,  and a second place finish. They were defeated in the league semi finals. This was a fantastic year for a first year team. Congratulations to all of the girls!

U12 GIRLS D2, coached by Mike Moyer, finished with a regular season record of 7 wins 1 loss 1 tie and a 2nd place finish overall. They were finalists in the league playoffs, losing 4-3 in the final. This team is in its second season and had an unbelievable turn around from last year. Great season girls!

U13 GIRLS Premiere MAN UTD. Div. ranked # 7 EPYSA in NSR rankings and #4 in Got Soccer, coached by Jeff Koegel and assistant coach Bill Goddard. They finished with a regular season record of 4 wins, 2 losses, and 3 ties. The team finished in 3rd place during the regular season and were crowned Champions this past weekend winning the final in pk's. They also won the Keystone Cup, was a finalist in Kirkwood, and Semi Finalist in Bethesda and the Spirit Kickoff Classic. Congratulations to the girls and the coaching staff. This team fought hard just to get into the playoffs, and had a perfect finish.

U14 GIRLS WHITE Championship Barca Div., coached by Drew Kauffman, finished with a regular season record of 5 wins, 2 losses,  2 ties and a 1st place finish. The team was a  finalist in the league playoffs this past weekend. This is another team that has had a huge turn around from past years. Great job by Drew ...and congratulations to the girls on a fantastic year.

U14 GIRLS BLACK Premiere Man Utd. Div. ranked # 7 EPYSA in NSR rankings and # 3 in Got Soccer as well as a # 12 ranking in Region 1, coached by Eric Puls, finished with a regular season record of 7 wins, 1 loss,  1 tie, and a 1st place finish. The team was crowned Champions in the league playoffs this past weekend. On a side note, this is one of the first girls teams in the club, and they have set the standard for all other teams that have followed. The team has won all 5 tournaments it has played this year, and has not suffered a loss or a tie in tournament play during that span, including - winning the prestigious Bethesda tournament 2 weeks ago. Congratulations to all of the girls and I thank the parents for their patience over the years.

U15 GIRLS Championship Div., coached by Eric Puls, finished with a final regular season record of 5 wins, 3 losses, 1 tie and a 3rd place finish overall. No playoffs were held for this age group. This is also one of first girls teams to play when the club formed and they have shown drastic improvements over the years...especially over this past year, winning several tournaments and now competing with the top teams in the age group...Another Great Success Story!  Great stuff, ladies!

Finally, the U18 GIRLS CPYSL League, coached by Rachel Napoli, had strong fall season and showed major improvements. The team is comprised mostly of U16 players and competed in a U18 PREMIERE Div. of CPYSL. I look forward to the continued growth of this team.

Once again, thanks to everyone who has played a part in making these things happen. Mike and I wish all of the teams in the club continued success. Stay tuned for the state cup results in the spring as one of our teams may break through this year and win a state cup. We had several teams come close last year.
